HITEC University is a leading private university located in Taxila Cantonment, Punjab, Pakistan. HITEC University was conceived as part of the Taxila Heavy Industries Educational City (HITEC).
The campus already had a kindergarten, school, and university-level educational institutions. In 2007, BS, BBA and BS Islamic Studies in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering were launched in collaboration with UET Taxila. The Government of Punjab gave HITEC University its charter on November 17, 2009, and all the students transferred to HITEC University.
HITEC University offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, civil engineering, mathematics, Islamic studies, and business administration.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the then President General Pervez Musharraf. Five years later, the university opened a new computer science department, and in 2019 it launched the Department of Civil Engineering.
